First day home, and I am Loving it..... Still!

Hey All,

Well, today was our first day home, and it went pretty good. Mommy woke up about 6am - had too much to get done while the kiddos were sleeping (ie. laundry). Peter woke up about 6:30am, ready to start his day. Peter usually sleeps until 9am, but I guess since he went to sleep early last night - he was ready to go today. Daddy woke up about 8am, and went to get bagels (yes, we missed them in Guatemala) before he went to work for a little bit. Anna stayed asleep until 9:45am. Mommy couldn't believe how late Anna slept for, even with Max (our dog) and Peter making noise.

The first house Anna visited was her Grandma's house (Margaret's mom) and grandma just loved Anna. Grandma couldn't get over how heavy/big Anna was and how beautiful she is. Anna was all smiles and giggles hanging out with grandma. Daddy joined us at Grandma's house for lunch. While there, Aunt Jean dropped by and she got to see Anna and hold Anna, before we left for our appointment.

After Grandma's house we brought Anna to the Dr's (International Adoption Ped. Dr.) to get checked out, she is a happy healthy baby girl. Mommy, Daddy, and Peter all went with Anna. Anna has a little cough, but the Dr. didn't have a concern for that, and said that it will go away in time. She is in the 50 percentile for weight, and the 5th percentile for head size and length. They attempted to take blood from Anna to have it test, but after sticking her one arm twice and getting nothing, they switched to the other arm, and on the 2nd stick with the needle there were able to get some blood, but not much. Hopefully it is enough for the test they have to run, so Anna doesn't have to go through that. While they were attempting to take the blood (took them an 1/2 hour) Anna was SCREAMING and crying the entire time. Poor little pumpkin.

After the Dr.'s we went home, to have some Dinner. Mommy started to cook dinner while Daddy gave Anna a bottle, but while Daddy was burping Anna she managed to spit up all over Daddy. LOL. So Daddy volunteered to do the cooking instead. While Daddy was cooking, mommy, Peter and Anna played on the floor. Then after dinner, Daddy played with the kiddos while Mommy cleaned up daddy's mess. Daddy is a good cook, but he knows how to make a mess.

This evening we celebrated Peter's "Gotcha Day". Two years ago today, we went to Guatemala to bring Peter home. He is such a great boy, and such a great big brother, he was helpful all day. It was Peter's choice on what he wanted for Dessert, since it was his day. Peter wanted to have ice cream with m & m's (which are his Favorite candy). He was soo happy to be able to have ice cream with M & M's.

After dessert, the kiddos got their pj's on and went to bed.

Happy Gotcha Day, Peter!
