Hi All,
Things are going great here in Guatemala. Friday evening (2/29) we met Barbara and her baby for dinner. Barbara is also from New York, and she was here for a visit trip.
Saturday (3/1) we all got up early, to get ready to go to Antigua. We had an early breakfast with Oliva (she just arrived, and was here for a pick up trip), afterwards we met Jacqueline to go to Antigua. While in Antigua we went to the Jade Factory, so Margaret can get another jade added to her adoption ring - the ring is similar to a Mother´s ring. So we added a dark jade stone (to match the color of Anna´s earrings) to the ring. Then we did a little shopping in the market, Kerry loves shopping there. Then we had lunch, and oh boy what a lunch it was. Here in Guatemala, when the menu says ¨fresh, right out of the tank¨ - they mean it. Margaret ordered Talibut, that was fried and served with home made french fries. Well, as the waiter was carrying out the dishes - Kerry was laughing, but Margaret didn´t know why, until the waiter put the dish down. WOW! It was the whole fish, I mean the eyes, head and tail. Margaret was soooo surprised, all she kept on saying was, oh no, oh no, I can not eat this. So then Margaret asked Jacqueline to ask the waiter (she spoke Spanish, to make sure they understood, what I wanted) to take the fish back and cut it up in cubes, take the head and tail off. If I didn´t know better, I would of sworn the eyes winked at me. LOL. The waiter took Margaret´s plate and returned it with the head removed. So Margaret ate her lunch, and it was good - just minus the tons of bones. Kerry had a good laugh the entire lunch, with that. Peter on the other hand wasn´t eating much, only to find out that he bit the inside of his mouth, so everytime he ate something it hurt him. It was a fun day! Thanks Jacqueline for coming along, it was very helpful.
After the fun adventures of lunch, we went to the plaza and the Ruins, that was very nice to see. Then we headed back to the hotel, and rested a little.
Throughout the day, Peter would not allow people to get close to Anna. When Margaret took Anna to the bathroom to change her, big brother Peter had to come too. The employees of the restaurant started to talk to Anna, and Peter made sure they kept their distance away from his sister. It was cute to see, Peter taking care of his sister. Peter and Anna are getting along great. Peter just loves it when his baby sister smiles at him when he goes to her crib to see if she is awake. Peter know loves doing group hugs (mommy, Anna, and Peter). When mommy burps Anna, Peter burps himself and shows Anna how to burp or he burps his bunny, its so cute to see.
Below are pics of Friday and Saturday. Anna´s clothes aren´t matching to good, because mommy had to do some handwashing, because Anna knows how to make a mess. But she is cute either way.
