Time to go home...........

Today Margaret woke up about 4am, because Anna wanted a bottle and a diaper change, but once that was done - Anna wasn't ready to go back to sleep right away. We all woke up about 5:15, to get ready and to go have breakfast before heading to the airport. We said our good byes to everyone, and loaded up in the Hotel van to the airport. Kerry was a little worried, because the hotel van was not there at 7am to take us to the airport, it showed up about 10 minutes later, which really didn't matter because we got to the airport on time. Yes, Kerry worries about everything, and being on time is his biggest obsession.

The American Airline counter had no one on line, so we breezed right through. We asked, if bulkhead seating was available and it wasn't to Dallas, but it was available to Laguardia. So Margaret asked the counter person, if we can get as close to the front as possible heading to Dallas, and if we can book the bulkhead now, and he said of course. So we were happy about that. We headed to the gate, with plenty of time to spare. While sitting at the gate, Kerry checked the tickets, and realized that we were all sitting apart from each other. Hmmm, like Peter would sit by himself, I don't think so. LOL. So Kerry went back to the ticket counter to see if anything can be done, and they said we had to wait for the gate to open. Once the gate opened Kerry spoke to the person, and they said the flight was full. Kerry explained to them that Peter was a 2 year old boy, after some figuring out - they managed to get mommy and Peter together, and Kerry 2 rows ahead of us. Margaret wasn't too worried about that, because she knew once on the plane she can ask that person sitting with us if they would mind changing. The gentleman sitting with us, volunteered to switch seats with Kerry. So the Kanakos family got to sit all together. Unfortunately, Margaret had two boys fighting over the window seat. Have you ever saw a 50 year old and a 2 year old fight over who was going to sit by the window. But, mommy couldn't say a word about it, because we all knew that Daddy always gets the window seat. Note to self, next time - both boys will have their own window seat. LOL

Our lay over was in Dallas Ft. Worth, Texas - where Anna became a U.S. citizen once she entered the U.S. The Immigrations Dept. there was a breeze. They checked Anna's visa to make sure the pictured looked like her, and then we were on our way. We had a quick bite to eat, before getting on our next plane home.

The flight home, was fun- both kiddos were awake most of the time. Peter was over tired, and wanted to sit on Mommy's lap to nap - so Anna had to hang out with Daddy. We landed in Laguardia Airport about 8:30pm, and was greeted by Aunt Karen (Kerry's sister), her husband Uncle Mike, and cousin Danielle. They had a big sign, welcoming Anna home.

Once home (about 10:30pm), there were pink and white balloons and a welcome home sign on the house, that was put there by Emily and Ryan O'Dea. We became good friends with the O'Dea's during Peter's and Emily's adoption 2 years ago.

Once home, Peter was fast to sleep - so Mommy just put him straight to bed. Anna needed a changing, so Mommy changed her and put her to bed. Anna was giggling for a few minutes, and then was fast to sleep.

It's nice to be home with the kiddos.

Getting ready for Take Off, out of Guatemala City.

Cousin Danielle, Aunt Karen, & Uncle Mike met us at the airport.

The O'Dea family, left us a surprise at our house, Thanks!
